"I will find the girl, and you have eight weeks to get her into bed." It was supposed to be a simple bet that Nathan Hansen made with his friend, Jeremy Malcolm. But when Jeremy's girl of choice turns out to be Andie Persaud, Nathan realizes he is in over his head. He finds himself drawn to the beautiful, shy, sensitive eighteen-year-old girl, who happens to be the daughter of his Economics lecturer! Determined not be beaten by Jeremy, Nathan ignores his conscience and presses on with the bet. He is forced to learn very important lessons about life, love and the neo-sexual revolution known as 'purity'. The Bet is the first title in the Persaud Girl series created by Teisha Mott. Other titles in the series are Just Perfect!, On Time and For Keeps.

The Bet Persaud Girl Teisha Mott 9781477696972 Books

I love a good romance and The Bet did not disappoint in this respect. It was evident that Miss Mott sat down and thought this story out from start to finish as the plot was well-crafted and engaging from the very first page to the last. The characters felt real: from the lovable, dependent, Uptown princess, Anne Dru to the handsome, charming, scrupulous Nathan to the zany Fern to the condescending but loving mother-bear, Samantha to the cocky, narcissist Jeremy and even the ever-grouchy housekeeper, Rosie. The Bet is set on the University of the West Indies campus and as I read I could picture Andie, Nathan and their friends walking the familiar grounds. The tale evoked a range of emotional responses; I found myself cheering for people, wanting to strangle people, laughing, getting mad or shaking my head. There was never a dull moment. I especially admired the togetherness of the Persaud clan; the way they supported each other was heartwarming and I loved the fact that the youngsters in the novel were so serious about their studies; not your typical party-animal college student. All-in-all, a very refreshing read. I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series.Thumbs up!

The Bet Persaud Girl Teisha Mott 9781477696972 Books Reviews

This book brings to memory my days at the University of the West Indies. The characters are realistic and portray the life of many adolescents and young adults on campus. As soon as I opened "The Bet," I knew I would be reading a hit. It was hard for me to put the book down because I wanted to find out what happened in the end. I would recommend this book to anyone experiencing college life. To say I loved it would be an understatement. I absolutely loved it. Superb writing. Excellent read.
Teisha Mott The Bet taps into the readers psyche, you will find yourself reflecting on your college years. It encompass personal tragedy, internal conflicts and love. The self assured Nathan Hansen succumb to peer pressure but is then taught a lesson of truly loving oneself and respecting others. Ironically such a lesson was a result of falling in love with the cynical and self loathing Annie Persaud who also learned the importance of loving oneself and finding true love and happiness. You will enjoy definitely on my list of must read.
Great read! Refreshing.
I loved this book. it really loved this family and how the young adults all put their education first and relationship everything else next.i loved that Nathan finally got the message and really put himself out there. I really hope that others will learn from his mistake.
The first in a series of books about the women in a wealthy family. The protagonist develops slowly and positively. Despite her ups and downs, she has an interesting outcome. I highly recommend this book.
I love the relationships between the members of the main family. I love the positive undertone of the entire story as far as the characters having goals to become outstanding people in society and promoting education. The story is well written and I just love Anne Dru as a female name however the ending was very predictable. Please do not let that stop you from reading thus book. It is great for young people and I encourage they read it. I am on to book 2 now. Enjoy!
I thoroughly enjoyed "The Bet." The content was five-star and the writing itself was refreshing and engaging. The only drawback I found related to the typos that made their way in. That's the only reason I gave a four-star review.

This novel would be a good read for college students; it addresses issues many of them will find familiar and to which they will probably be able to relate. The characters were definitely likable, and I'm curious about how the other stories in the series will unfold. I will definitely be reading more novels by this author. Kudos to you, Miss Mott!
